On Saturday, April 30th 2011 from 11am-4pm, the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT) celebrates its 10th anniversary and National Adopt-A-Greyhound Month (April) with a Birthday Bash at Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney. Bring the family, greyhounds, chairs and blankets for a relaxing afternoon.
Planned activities include Franconia Brewery Company tour (11am), Blue Dog Bounce House, 5,000 square foot off-leash greyhound play area, games, GreytStore and other vendors, Greyhound Spa, raffle, gourmet hamburgers with all of the fixings, birthday cake for humans, hounds and more!
“We are so excited to be celebrating this 10-year milestone in conjunction with National Adopt-A-Greyhound Month,” says John McQuade, co-founder of GALT. ”Fortunately, we have placed over 2,000 retired racers and abused greyhounds into their forever homes. Unfortunately, the need for the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas still exists and we will continue to seek quality homes for the hundreds of greyhounds surrendered annually into our care.”
Cost for the Birthday Party, brewery tour (11am) and lunch is $15 for adults and $10 for children in advance, $20 for adults at the door, kids $10. This is a greyhound only event. For tickets go tohttp://www.galtx.org or call 214-395-8649. In case of rain, the celebration will be postponed until May 7.
