In-N-Out in Allen

Many people are confused why In-N-Out burger will be opening in the suburbs before hitting a big city like Dallas or Fort Worth. You would think that they would start in a large city and work their way to the suburbs but many don’t realize how much the suburbs have to offer. Both In-N-Out Burgers opening in Allen and Frisco are located in  prime locations.

The Allen location is off Stacy Road located next to The Village at Allen, where there is shopping galore and every type of restaurant you can imagine. The only thing missing in that area is a good fast food burger chain. The Frisco location is off of Preston Road across the street from Stonebriar Mall. There are many more In-N-Out locations that will be opening within the next couple months, but we are proud they have started in Collin County first!

In-N-Out has confirmed that they will be opening their Allen and Frisco on Wednesday morning at 10:30am.  Expect long lines and some waiting time, but it will be worth it. Will you be one of the first customers at the new location?

On Saturday, April 30th 2011 from 11am-4pm, the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas (GALT) celebrates its 10th anniversary and National Adopt-A-Greyhound Month (April) with a Birthday Bash at Franconia Brewing Company in McKinney.  Bring the family, greyhounds, chairs and blankets for a relaxing afternoon.

Planned activities include Franconia Brewery Company tour (11am), Blue Dog Bounce House, 5,000 square foot off-leash greyhound play area, games, GreytStore and other vendors, Greyhound Spa, raffle, gourmet hamburgers with all of the fixings, birthday cake for humans, hounds and more!

“We are so excited to be celebrating this 10-year milestone in conjunction with National Adopt-A-Greyhound Month,” says John McQuade, co-founder of GALT.  ”Fortunately, we have placed over 2,000 retired racers and abused greyhounds into their forever homes.  Unfortunately, the need for the Greyhound Adoption League of Texas still exists and we will continue to seek quality homes for the hundreds of greyhounds surrendered annually into our care.”

Cost for the Birthday Party, brewery tour (11am) and lunch is $15 for adults and $10 for children in advance, $20 for adults at the door, kids $10. GALT is a 501(c) 3 non-profit all-volunteer group dedicated to placing all greyhounds, primarily those that competed and trained for racing, into loving homes.  GALT facilitates the adoption of greyhounds by providing kennel services and foster homes along with their medical needs, including spay and neuter, assisting them in the transition from track-life to home-life; and educating the public about why the greyhound has been a favored companion dog for more than 4,000 years.

Central Market is hosting their first annual IBCA (International Barbeque Cookers Association) sanctioned BBQ Cook Off.  Pits will fire up April 29th with our kickoff party and stay lit through judging April 30th.  There will be loads of smoke, food and fun!

2011 Dallas International Film Festival

The spotlight on Indian Cinema will be during the 2011 Dallas International Film Festival. The festival begins on March 31 and ends on April 10, 2011. The Spotlight on Indian Cinema will take place on April 8-10 at the Angelika Film Center & Café in Plano.

The DIFF India Team have picked 4 powerful films that will move you and have you talking for weeks to come. The film AUTUMN will be a US PREMIERE!
